Finding Peace in the Chaos: 3 Practical Ways to Protect Your Daily Calm

Hey, girl, hey! From April 23rd to April 30th, we’ll revisit topics covered in earlier posts, staying relevant to what matters now.

When was the last time you wished you could feel peace in your mind, marriage, and motherhood? You were scared to pray for it because you thought all hell would break loose if you did. I know, I was raised believing the same thing. Also, I used to wish for the same things, love, but I realized something I’m sharing with you. Why wish for something our Daddy already gave us? My friend Ro reminded me that peace isn’t mine for the asking, it’s mine to have. Demand it.

Keep reading to see how it’s possible to walk and live in peace despite the chaos and noise—and not just any peace, but perfect peace that only comes from the Father.

Let’s walk through 3 practical ways to invite God’s calm into your daily rhythm.

1. Start with Stillness – Invite God Into the Noise

📖 “Be still, and know that I am God.” – Psalm 46:10

Love, before the world starts shouting, center your heart. Even five minutes of quiet with God changes everything. Sip your tea or coffee, open your Bible, and breathe Him in.

Before getting out of bed, I do my breathwork and think about the Lord. I thank Him for life, seeing the day, and breathing in Jesus. Then I grab my water, read, make my declarations and affirmations, and pray, being present. Being silent and still wasn’t always easy, so I would listen to Nathaniel Coe III or DappyTKeys on YouTube to help me develop this discipline.

2. Guard Your Atmosphere – Protect Your Peace

📖 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee.” – Isaiah 26:3

Turn off what drains you. Choose peace playlists, speak Scripture aloud, and protect your environment. You set the atmosphere for your day.

Even as a homeschooling mother who runs businesses from home, I learned that if I wanted the day to flow from a place of peace, it was my responsibility to set the tone of my atmosphere. I quit letting our flesh and funky attitudes disrupt what I knew the Lord desired for us. Sis, I promise you. Every👏🏾single👏🏾 time👏🏾 I praise and worship our Father, major shifts happen in our interactions and dealings with one another, for the glory of God.

3. Return to the Source – Keep Peace Through the Word

📖 “Peace I leave with you, My peace I give unto you…” – John 14:27

Keep your Bible or sticky notes with verses nearby. Peace doesn’t last by accident—it flows from a daily Word connection.

Since I love books and the feel of turning pages, I always keep a physical Bible near me. I try anyway. Even in possible peace-snatching moments, if I glance at my Bible, I’m grounded again, remembering I already had victory through Jesus. Oftentimes, I’m playing the Bible on audio to some dope beats or listening to a relevant message for the season I’m in.

Sis, we’re letting these 3 practical tips remain nonnegotiable to us, okay? This is what our Father wants for His daughters and our families.
