Sis, did you know your words carry power?

In a world where it’s easy to speak negatively about ourselves, especially when we’re tired, discouraged, or struggling with our health, God offers us a better way. He invites us to speak life, declare truth, and align our words with His promises. When we do, we shift our mindset and renew our strength and hope in Him.

In Part 1, we explored how honoring your body is a spiritual act of worship. Let’s discuss how your words can fuel that journey, especially during hard seasons.

The Power of Your Words

“Death and life are in the power of the tongue…”Proverbs 18:21
“From the same mouth come blessing and cursing… My brothers and sisters, this should not be.”James 3:10

Scripture makes it clear—our words matter. How we speak about our bodies, health, and well-being can either build up or tear down. What we say reflects what we believe; over time, it influences our lives.

Sis, it’s not enough to know this; it’s the Word of God that’s acted upon that makes the difference. I’ve known Scriptures all my life, literally memorized many verses since childhood, but if I didn’t speak and be a doer of the Word, I wouldn’t see change in my life.

Why Bible-Based Affirmations?

Affirmations are simply declarations—truths we speak over ourselves regularly to renew our minds. However, as believers, we don’t just pull affirmations out of thin air. We anchor them in the unchanging truth of God’s Word.

These aren’t just motivational quotes—they’re spirit-filled weapons in the battle for your health, peace, and joy.

10 Bible-Based Affirmations for Health & Healing

Here are ten declarations rooted in Scripture to speak over your body, health, and healing. Say them aloud, write them down, and keep them on your mirror or phone:

  1. “My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I treat it with care and honor.”
    1 Corinthians 6:19–20

  2. “The Lord is the strength of my life. I walk in His strength every day.”
    Psalm 27:1

  3. “By Jesus’ stripes I am healed. I receive His healing in every part of me.”
    Isaiah 53:5

  4. “God renews my strength. I rise on wings like eagles.”
    Isaiah 40:31

  5. “I choose rest because God gives His beloved sweet sleep.”
    Psalm 127:2

  6. “I am prospering and in good health as my soul prospers.”
    3 John 1:2

  7. “I cast all anxiety and cares on the Lord because He cares for me.”
    1 Peter 5:7

  8. “I reverence the Lord with a life of love and willing obedience. I am healed and refreshed.”
    Proverbs 3:7–8

  9. “The joy of the Lord is my strength—body, mind, and spirit.”
    Nehemiah 8:10

  10. “I am fearfully and wonderfully made, and I thank God for my body today.”
    Psalm 139:14

When You Don’t Feel It—Speak It Anyway

Some days, you won’t feel strong, healthy, or hopeful. That’s okay. Faith isn’t denial—it’s declaration. It’s choosing to speak God’s truth even when your body feels weak or your mind is weary.

Even Jesus responded to lies and temptation by speaking the Word of God (Matthew 4). You can do the same.

Remember, Christianity isn’t a religion based on feelings. It’s a way of life built upon absolute willing obedience, trust, and faith in the living God and His Word.

How to Create Your Affirmations

Want to personalize your affirmations even more? Try this simple formula:

According to (insert Scripture and promise). Therefore (insert your declaration).

Example:
According to Exodus 15:26, the Lord is my healer. Therefore, I trust and thank Him for restoration in my body.

Let it come from the heart. Make it personal. Have as little or as many as you need.

Final Thoughts: Keep Speaking Life

You are on a sacred journey. Every healthy step you take matters—but so does every word you speak. Fill your heart and mouth with the Word of God, and you’ll find strength and peace in every season.

🖤 Let these affirmations be a daily reminder that you’re not walking alone. God is with you, and your wellness journey is worship.
